the history of colgate
Colgate have been known for over 200 years. It first started on 1806 where it only produce starch, soap and candle in Dutch Street in New York City. On 1817, First Colgate advertisement appears in a New York newspaper. On 1857, the founder of the Colgate, William Colgate died. The company then managed by his son, Samuel Colgate. Then, on 1873, Colgate started producing toothpaste in jars. After that, Colgate keep selling successfully and always winning some awards. On 1992, Colgate Total toothpaste introduced. Then, Colgate Total toothpaste is introduced in the U.S. and quickly becomes the market leader. Only Colgate Total, with its 12-hour protection, fights a complete range of oral health problems. On 2004, Colgate acquires the GABA oral care business in Europe, with its strength in the important European pharmacy channel and its ties with the dental community. And today, with sales surpassing $13 billion, Colgate focuses on four core businesses: Oral Care, Personal Care, Home Care and Pet Nutrition. Colgate now sells its products in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
